POSITION: Senior Programmer/Analyst (BizTalk Applications)
DEPARTMENT: Information Technology
Location: Don Mills
REPORTS TO: Manager, e-Business
STATUS: Full-time
Salary: 70K
NATURE & SCOPE:
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining applications and
BizTalk integration. The incumbent works closely with the Senior Business
Systems Analyst and helps to ensure that development requirements are met in
a timely, efficient and reliable manner.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Analyses business requirements and prepares technical specifications for
IT development
· Develops and tests server side code using JavaScript, Visual Basic 6.0 and
C#.NET
· Creates and tests document maps for integration projects using BizTalk
· Integrates HTML mock-ups provided by e-Commerce and Marketing into ASP
pages
· Prepares technical documentation for system changes
· Promotes system changes to the development, test and production
environments
· Ensures that IT systems are well documented
· Provides third level support
· Ensures that web applications are secure, efficient and designed for
scalability
· Exhibits good communication skills and the ability to work within a team
environment
EXPERIENCE:
Good knowledge of software development methodologies and application
architecture gained through at least 5 years of practical experience with
web-based applications
Good English communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
environment
Technical Competencies
· Asset: At least 2 years of BizTalk document mapping experience using DTD's
and schemas
· At least 5 years of Visual Basic 6.0 and C#.NET development experience
including Visual Studio and Visual Source Safe
· COM+ configuration and administration
· MSMQ administration
· IIS administration and troubleshooting on Windows 2000 or 2003 server
· Excellent knowledge of ASP, ASP.NET, C# / VB.NET, ADO, XSL, XML, HTML and
scripting languages for the creation of web applications
· At least 2 years of practical experience with the Microsoft .NET
framework, including ASP.NET, C# / VB.NET, and Visual Studio.NET
Database Skills
· Knowledge of relational concepts, database design, and administration
· Practical experience using Oracle 10g (or 9i) and PL\SQL programming
· Practical experience using Microsoft SQL Server with stored procedures
EDUCATION:
· University or Community College graduate preferably in Information
