NOC Analyst -
Toronto, Ontario Canada
Salary: 40k to 55k
As a NOC Analyst you will support the registry network monitoring team to
assess Network Performance on a real time basis. Additional
responsibilities of this position are but not limited to; provide technical
guidance to Technical Support Group, customers, identify Network
Performance impacting events, support root cause analysis efforts and
provide daily detailed report on registry performance to manager.
This position requires a critical eye for detail and the ability to
associate network and registry activity to performance impacts. Candidate
must have the ability to communicate "cause and affect" issues on technical
level. Solid understanding of network and experience with core registry
components is critical to the success of this position. This position is
supported by a team of technical and management resources dedicated to
improving the operational performance of the registry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide 7x24x365 network and customer support of the domain name registry
· Prompt resolution and/or escalation of application/system problems
including determining root cause of problem through to appropriate solution
· Keeping internal and external customers apprised of work effort being
conducted to resolve their issues
· Consulting with appropriate member of the IT and/or Development team in
order to resolve customer and registry issues
· Escalate to Team Leader - Technical Support, IT and Development when
appropriate
· Prepares management reports
· Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

· Ability to take ownership and follow through to appropriate resolution
· Solid analytical and problem solving skills
· Ability to deal effectively with constant change and conflicting
priorities

Knowledge and skills requirements:
· At least 2-3 years experience in Technical/Customer Support in a 7x24x365
mission critical environment
· Solid understanding of the concept of domain name root registry
· Experience with network diagnostic and monitoring equipment
· Familiarity with internet base applications
· Experience in administering a UNIX/Linux based mission critical
application
· Solid understanding of the following:
o EPP Protocol
o Solaris
o Net Saint, Big brother, HP Openview, or Nagios
o Postgres database, SQL
· University degree or college diploma in Computer Science,
Telecommunications, Engineering or equivalent work experience
· Perl and/or shell scripting experience
Mental and Physical Demands
· Daily work on a computer
Working Conditions
· Normal office environment
· Required to work rotating shifts, frequently outside of normal working
hours
